2.5 to 3.7 mm. Pronotum and elytra normally unicolourous although bicoloured specimens are not uncommon. Green, coppery sometimes blue, in the field often appearing purple.

Associated with Willows.

Mainly from April to October.

Widespread records from southern Britain, becoming less common further north.

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were approximately 44 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
