Knighton Park Bioblitz 2017
Knighton Park, Palmerston Way, Leicester LE2
(Car Park Access at Palmerston Way entrance)
The BioBlitz is coming to Leicester once again on the 12th and 13th of May for the 8th year running.
Fancy a challenge? Fun, family day out? The BioBlitz is for you! It is a 24-hour race against the clock to identify as many species as possible. An ambitious target of 500 species has been set to challenge experts and beginners alike in a quest to find wildlife ranging from bats to butterflies and trees to toads.
This year Knighton Park has been chosen to host the annual event. It promises to be one of the biggest yet! There will be a range of activities from guided walks covering birds, bats and beasties to talks about our countryside and activities for families and children.
Knighton Park has lots to offer. It is a big park on the edge of Leicester City which has a fantastic mix of habitats, from brooks, grasslands, woodlands and formal gardens! Thousands of people are predicted to attend this year’s annual event, all recording wildlife or coming for a fun family day out.
Register for events via the City Council's website at: www.leicester.gov.uk/promoting-biodiversity/ or directly on Eventbrite.
